To improve the performance of the D-Link DSL-2790U Modem Router, a firmware update is required.

Please do NOT update the router via Wi Fi connection as this might damage the router.

Once the Router is connected and switched on, please follow the instruction video below.

Note: This firmware upgrade is only required for customers who are using the D-Link DSL-2790U modem with an nbn™ connection.

The Firmware Update file is located at the bottom of this page.

You might see a message at the top of the router pages when new firmware is available.

You can respond to that message to update the firmware or you can check to see if new firmware is available and update your router’s firmware.

Some newer modems have a USB host port on the back.

This USB host port does not provide internet access and is not supported at this time.

To upgrade the firmware of your router, you will first need todownload the required files from the D-Link Support page for thisrouter. Click on Browse, browse to andselect the file that you saved before, then click on Update Firmware or Firmware.

The router will then copy the new firmware into its memory andperform the update, after which it will reboot.

Use a computer that connects to the routerusing an Ethernet cable.
